This is one of those meals that is made possible for vegetarians with veggie ground. We try not to eat it a lot, because it's soy-based, not to mention full of preservatives, but it's not worse for you than ground beef, and it makes awesome tasting Sloppy Joes.
Sloppy Joes
Recipe
The original recipe is found in The Recipe Hall of Fame Cookbook, and we follow it with the exception of the veggie ground substitution for ground beef.1 lb Yves veggie ground
1 onion, chopped
2 tbsp chili powder
3 tbsp BBQ sauce
Dash Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp flour
Salt & pepper to taste
Sauté the onions. (If you're making this with ground beef, cook it with the onions.)
Onions sautéeing
Mix all other ingredients.
Sloppy Joe sauce
Add the sauce to the onions in the skillet and heat for a few minutes.
Sauce & onions
Mix in the veggie ground last and heat a couple more minutes. Serve on toasted buns.
