Vegetarian Spaghetti & Homemade Pizza

Day 14

Today I went to Mom and Dad's for dinner, to help celebrate my niece's birthday. Dinner was pizza and spaghetti, and they made a veggie version of each of them just to accommodate me, which was very thoughtful and sweet.

Vegetarian Spaghetti & Homemade Pizza

The Pizza

Dad made the crust and Mom was topping it when I arrived. Dad made his crust from scratch, using flour, yeast, etc.

Toppings
  • Homemade pasta sauce
  • Red onions
  • Black olives
  • Green peppers
  • Tomatoes
  • Mushrooms
  • Parmesan
  • Mozzarella
  • Dried oregano

All my favorite toppings, and Dad's crust was fantastic! Altogether they made three pizzas. The third one was a pepperoni and cheese one for Lily, our birthday girl, which is apparently her favorite. Mom is a pleaser. This was my 5th time having pizza in the past two weeks. Fortunately, I really like pizza. lol

The Spaghetti

The spaghetti sauce was made from scratch as well, starting with canned tomatoes. They divided it before adding the meat, keeping them hot in separate pots. I added a bit of parmesan, mozzarella and dried oregano to the vegetarian version. It was very good, especially paired with Mom's delicious homemade rolls.

Dessert

Dessert was...birthday cake!! We had two different kinds: Mom's fabulous homemade chocolate cake with boiled icing and a DQ Oreo ice cream cake that Tara picked up. We even sang "Happy Birthday" twice. Happy Birthday Lily!

Reviews/Comments

Both the pizza and the spaghetti were really good. I ate 2 pieces of pizza and brought 2 more home with me to have for lunch tomorrow. Cake was awesome, too! Thanks, Mom and Dad! xo
