So, tonight I am off to Sobeys to get some sub buns and sauce for meatball subs. Meatless ones, of course. We've made these before, back in November, the first time we tried Chef John's meatless meatballs. Sooo good.
Meatless Meatball Subs
My shopping list is:
Sub buns
1 jar of pasta sauce
Mozzarella
We have red onions and mushrooms. We have amazeballs. See you soon!
I'm Back!
Ok, so I got Classico Sweet Basil Marinara sauce, soft sub buns, mozzarella, grated parmesan, and a green pepper as a bonus!
Classico sauce
Prepping
We heated the sauce in a saucepan with 12 amazeballs on low while we grated the mozzarella and chopped the toppings.
Meatballs in marinara sauce
Shredded cheese
Veggie Toppings
1/4 red onion5 large mushrooms
1/2 green pepper
Chopped veggie toppings
Let the Assembly Begin
We like mayo on our meatball subs, so if you think that's just weird too bad because it's not weird at all, it's really good and you should try it too.
Subs buns with mayo
So, mayo first, then the meatballs with a bit of sauce, then mozzarella.
Meatballs & cheese
Finally the veggies and a bit of parmesan.
Meatless meatball subs ready for the oven
Into the oven for 10 minutes at 350 degrees F. We left them a bit longer and they were kind of hard.
Ta-Daaaa!!

Reviews/Comments
Like lunch at the deli, only maybe even better. Even though they were hard. I have to take a point off for that so I give them an 9. Nope. They're way too good. They have to have 10.Laura: 10
